United States: Researchers have already found that both cigarette and e-cigarette smoking can actually harm blood vessel function, even without nicotine. These results are basically being shared at the annual or can say the yearly meeting of the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA). The research shows that this smoking habit can actually have immediate negative effects on health.
E-cigarettes, or vapes, are basically battery powered devices or battery operated which heat a liquid to produce aerosol that you breathe into your lungs. Vapes contain far fewer chemicals and toxins than does tobacco smoke. That’s why so many people think e-cigarettes are less risky than cigarette smoking. Thankfully, vapes come in a large number of flavors too, and that’s particularly a draw for people your age.
As reported by the Medicalxpress, the lead author of the study, Marianne Nabbout, M.D., a radiology resident at the initial University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock, said, ‘E-cigarettes have been marketed for years as a safer alternative to regular tobacco smoking.’ “I think that people some believe that e-cigarettes aren’t the same as regular tobacco cigarettes because, there’s no combustion there and some think they don’t have any of the harmful products like free radicals in it.”

Although vaping exposes users to fewer toxic chemicals than cigarettes, it damages related vascular function and health.
Dr. Nabbout and colleagues studied the acute effects of cigarette smoking and the immediate effects of e-cigarette vaping, with and without nicotine, using the Penn students.
To date, 31 healthy smokers and vapers between the ages of 21 and 49 years old are included. In three separate sessions, study participants underwent two MRI exams, one before and one after each of the following smoking/vaping episodes: e cigarette aerosol with nicotine, e cigarette aerosol without nicotine and tobacco cigarette.
The upper thigh was cuffed in order to restrict the flow of blood. Femoral artery flow velocity (a measure of blood flow speed in the femoral artery) and venous oxygen saturation ( which is the amount of oxygen in the blood) as it returns to the heart after delivering oxygen to the body’s tissues) were measured once diluted.
