Parents Allege Newborn Nearly Lost Life After Mishandled Circumcision at NYC Hospital

United States: In a harrowing account reported by CBS News, parents Gabrielle and Tim Groth reveal their newborn son, Cole, almost perished due to a grievously mishandled circumcision at a New York City medical facility.

The couple celebrated Cole’s arrival on March 31 at NewYork-Presbyterian Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital, a renowned institution in Manhattan. However, joy quickly turned into anxiety when, mere days later, Cole was fitted with a stent as part of urgent care for a congenital heart condition, according to CBS

Following his stabilization and the green light to return home, hospital staff purportedly proposed the idea of circumcision. Yet, the Groths contend they were not apprised of the elevated risks this surgery poses to infants burdened with heart anomalies, CBS reports.

The tragedy unfolded when Cole, still under medical supervision in the neonatal intensive care unit, began hemorrhaging excessively — a battle with blood loss that raged for over ten agonizing hours.

Gabrielle Groth described a nightmare scene to CBS, “I entered the room and found him ghostly pale, shrieking in a way that wrenched my soul — a sound I had never imagined coming from him.”

In the aftermath, Gabrielle and Tim Groth disclosed that the relentless bleeding inflicted extensive harm on Cole’s vital organs, leading to liver, kidney, and brain injuries. As of the last update, the infant remains in precarious condition, according to the CBS report.

Responding to CBS News’ inquiries, NewYork-Presbyterian Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital issued a brief statement, citing patient confidentiality policies and declining to offer further commentary.
