United States: The American Heart Association and the American College of Cardiology consequently published their first updated edition of guidelines to reduce hypertension in 2017.
The revised recommendations made by the clinicians across the country encourage Americans not to drink so much alcohol.

Although the avoidance of alcoholic consumption is desirable, the groups viewed that men were to limit their alcoholic intake to a maximum of two drinks in a day, and women were to limit their alcoholic intake to a maximum of one drink in a day.
It was reported that both systolic and diastolic blood pressure increase over time on consumption of alcohol, which was published on August 14.
The statistics discovered that individuals who never consume alcohol pose the least danger of having hypertension, and those who minimized their consumption by at least 50 percent enjoyed healthy blood pressures, as USA Today reported.
The doctors have now been instructed on the new measures that involve giving treatment recommendations to patients with stage 1 hypertension and not stage 2, as it was before.
Whereas the 2017 guidelines would recommend changes in lifestyle and drugs to individuals with a systolic blood pressure level of 140 mm Hg and above, the clinicians are now recommended to offer lifestyle changes to individuals with a blood pressure level of 130-139 mm Hg.
The pressure gauge utilized by the blood pressure measuring device is referred to as millimeters of mercury (mm Hg), wherein the pressure inside your body’s vessels/blood is measured.
According to Chair of the guideline writing committee Dr. Daniel Jones, “By addressing individual risks earlier and offering more tailored strategies across the lifespan, the 2025 guideline aims to aid clinicians in helping more people manage their blood pressure and reduce the toll of heart disease, kidney disease, Type 2 diabetes and dementia,” as USA Today reported.
It is important that analysts maintain that in order to reduce hypertension, there is a need to reduce the amount of sodium consumed.
Based on health recommendations, people should also avoid consuming more than 2,300 mg of sodium/day, with an optimum intake of 1,500 mg of sodium/day.
