The health condition of the 79-year-old president was revealed at the White House to quell rumours that followed pictures of Trump with swollen ankle legs.

Press secretary Karoline Leavitt said that Trump grew aware of the swelling in recent weeks and has been evaluated thoroughly by the White House medical unit.

According to CNBC News reports, he was diagnosed with chronic venous insufficiency, which Leavitt described as a “benign and common condition, particularly in individuals over the age of 70.”

The Cleveland Clinic explains that when the leg veins of an individual are damaged, chronic venous insufficiency is experienced, which limits the flow of blood in the body, making the blood pool underneath the legs in a circumstance known as pooling.

The clinic finds that chronic venous insufficiency affects one in every 20 adults, and the prevalence tends to be higher with age.

According to Leavitt, Trump did not feel any pain due to the condition. In the medical examination, no evidence of deep vein thrombosis or arterial diseases was observed, Leavitt asserted.

According to Leavitt, in Thursday’s briefing, the bruising of such sort as on Trump’s hands is an important side effect of the regular aspirin use, the one that Trump takes as part of a so-called routine cardiovascular prevention schedule, CNBC News reported.

“The president remains in excellent health, which I think all of you witness on a daily basis here,” she added.

Based on a memorandum written by White House physician Sean Barbabella in April, Trump is reported to be doing great on the physical scene and to be very fit to carry out the functions of the presidency.
